On Tuesday, 21 March 2017, the Association for Demography (VVD) will organize its second
Demography Day. This day addresses recent developments in demography and gives (both
experienced and young) researchers the opportunity to present their work to colleagues and
interested scholars. The day consists of Dutch and English spoken parallel sessions and an
interesting keynote lecture will be given by Fred Pearce. Pearce is a science journalist and

Ellen Dingemans (Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute – NIDI) wins the NVD Poster Award 2016 with her poster entitled ‘Working after retirement and life satisfaction’. The Award was presented Wednesday, November 23rd in Utrecht by Leo van Wissen (chair of the NVD). The NVD Poster Award for the poster which best presents and visualizes the results of population research is awarded every year at the Dutch Demography Day.

Roselinde van der Wiel wins the NIDI-NVD Master Thesis Award 2016 with her master thesis entiteld ‘Pathways to commitment in living-apart-together relationships in the Netherlands: A study on satisfaction, alternatives, investments and social support’.
 

This Award will be presented to the best master thesis in population studies. The Award is jointly sponsored by the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI) and the Netherlands Demographic Society and carries a €500 prize. This Award will be presented to the best poster at the Dutch Demography Day 2016. Poster presenters will have 2 minutes to pitch their work during the Plenary poster session. Posters will be judged during the Dutch Demography Day.
