Roselinde van der Wiel wins the NIDI-NVD Master Thesis Award 2016 with her master thesis entiteld ‘Pathways to commitment in living-apart-together relationships in the Netherlands: A study on satisfaction, alternatives, investments and social support’.
 

This Award will be presented to the best master thesis in population studies. The Award is jointly sponsored by the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI) and the Netherlands Demographic Society and carries a €500 prize. This Award will be presented to the best poster at the Dutch Demography Day 2016. Poster presenters will have 2 minutes to pitch their work during the Plenary poster session. For the rules of play for this competition click here or go to the end of this page for downloads. The NVD sponsors this award with a €100 prize.

Posters will be judged during the Dutch Demography Day.

On June 9, 2016 the Dutch Sociological Association (NSV) and the Flemish Society for Sociology (VVS) organize their annual meeting “Dag van de Sociologie” (DvdS). The 16th DvdS will be organized by the Sociology department at Tilburg University. 

The Population Research Centre of the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) is presently seeking to fill up a postdoc position (0.8 – 1.0 fte) on the theme "Improving mortality forecasts" within the overall research project by Fanny Janssen on "Future mortality: integrating smoking, alcohol and obesity" (see www.rug.nl/research/future-mortality). The position is for three years, with preferred starting date August 16, 2016.
