Dutch Demography Day 2007
On Tuesday 9 October 2007, the Netherlands Demographic Society (NVD) hosted the second Dutch Demography Day. Demographers and researchers from other disciplines had the opportunity to present their current research. The day started with a plenary lecture on the consequences of population ageing for the supply of labour by Jolande Sap, director of the Expertisecentrum LEEFtijd, followed by 3 rounds of parallel sessions with paper presentations. 132 persons attended the Demography Day.
The Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI) awarded a master thesis award of 500 euros. the prize was awarded to Martijn Hogerbrugge for his master thesis 'The family ties of unmarried cohabiting persons', written at Utrecht University under supervision of Pearl Dykstra.
