On 6 October 2005 the Netherlands Demographic Society (NVD) organised the 1st Dutch Demography Day, in collaboration with the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographics Institute (NIDI) and the University of Groningen's Population Research Centre (PRC). The NIDI awarded a price to Jolanda van Sluijs for her thesis 'Effects of life course transitions on the satisfaction of young adult'.
