Dutch Demography Day 2019

On 20 November 2019 the Netherlands Demographic Society (NVD) hosted the 12th Dutch Demography Day in collaboration with the Italian Association for Population Studies (AISP). The day took place in the Academy Building of Utrecht (Domplein). The plenary session started with a keynote speech by professor Francesco Billari (Bocconi University, Milan). His speech was titled “Demography: slow and fast – The speed of demographic change at the macro and the micro level”. During the Dutch Demography Day, demographers and researchers from a range of disciplines presented their research in three rounds with parallel sessions and one poster session. The 2016 NVD Poster Award was won by Sophie Stroisch (CMO Stamm) for her poster “Moving intentions in the province of Groningen: Does a decline in perceived liveability matter?”. This year, no Master Thesis Award was awarded as there were less than five submissions. The video competition was won by primary school OSG Sevenwolden in Heerenveen.

Summaries of the presentations and posters can be found in the Book of Abstracts.
