De Nederlandse Verenging voor Demografie (NVD) wil middels een ‘Seed Grant’ masterstudenten en promovendi die werkzaam zijn op het snijvlak van demografie en samenleving een mogelijkheid geven om iets extra’s toe doen in hun onderzoek.
The NVD makes a €1500 budget available annually for circumscribed research activities, such as additional data collection, coding or transcription of qualitative interviews, or visiting a conference or workshop to present a paper. The Seed Grant is specifically intended for young researchers who want to stimulate their own research.
Procedure:
- Write a proposal with your idea (max. 1 A4, including budget)
- Applications up to a maximum budget of €1,500 can be submitted
- Indienen t/m 5 december 2025 via info@nvdemografie.nl
- A jury will evaluate the applications
- Het bedrag moet in 2026 besteed worden
- De Grant wordt uitgereikt tijdens de Demografiedag op 4 februari 2026
- Whenever there are too few (good quality) applications, the jury may decide not to award the Grant that year.
NVD Seed Grant (English)
The Netherlands Demographic Society offers a “Seed Grant” to young researchers (Master and PhD students), working at the intersection of demography and society, to provide extra financial means that will help them in their research project.

- The grant will have to be used in 2026.
- The grant will be awarded at the Dutch Demography Day on 4 February 2026
- Whenever there are too few (good quality) applications, the jury may decide not to award the Grant that year.
