On Wednesday 24 November 2021, the Netherlands Demographic Society (NVD) hosted the 14th edition of the Dutch Demography Day, again online this year because of covid restrictions. Demographers and researchers from a range of disciplines presented their research in 11 parallel sessions.
The keynote speech was given by professor Helga de Valk, director of NIDI. Her speech was titled: “Moving on: How mobility in childhood influences later life”.
The 2021 Master Thesis Award was won by Claire Sze Eng Tan (Maastricht University) with her study titled “Returning to a home without a future: The effect of migrant trajectories and experiences on the reintegration of Albanian rejected asylum-seekers”.
Maaike Hornstra (NIDI) received this year’s poster award. The video competition was won by the Bataafs Lyceum from Hengelo.
